There’s now a great tool that lets you see who the candidates’ and parties’ contributors were for the 2008 election cycle - it is called FundRace. You can look donors up by name, address, and even their employer. There’s also a map of the country that can give you an idea of how broad Obama’s appeal is. FundRace is almost too detailed, but it’s all based on publicly available information and doesn’t break any privacy laws.
