Sunday March 21, 2010 will be remembered as the day that Obama, Democrats and all Americans made history.
For the first time ever the US House of Representatives passed a bill that allows a public health insurance option to compete with the private [219 yay, vs 212 nay]. Months of hard work has paid off. Having this bill passed is a first step for Americans to have affordable health care. 32 million more Americans will be covered and health insurance companies cannot DENY people coverage!

Canadians for Obama would like to congratulate our neighbours to the South on this amazing achievement.
We’d love to hear your thoughts. Does the bill do enough for the American people? Do you think America will ever have Universal health care? What are your thoughts on all the anti-abortion amendments the GOP introduced?
Next up: making progress on climate change!!

Dear Canadians for Obama supporters,
This is it: After months of hard work, the final vote on health reform in the House of Representatives is expected TODAY. It’s the first steps for Americans to have affordable health care. This is history in the making: if it passes today as it will give Americans control over their own health care. It’s shaping up to be incredibly close, and every member of Congress will play a critical role.
What are your thoughts? Does the bill do enough for the American people? What do feel about the process and time it’s taken to get this far? Do you think this will help in future bills that would help bring more progressive health policies? Do you think America will ever have a single-payer health care system?
Let us know - feel free to comment!
